Arriving at the Airport

Santiago

There is a wide variety of choices to get from the airport to Santiago every day of the year. All of the flights from abroad arrive at the Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Chile, located 26 kilometers (16 miles) from Santiago.

We have highlighted some trusted options to make the last leg of your trip as smooth as possible.

  1. Airport transportation service: each van has a capacity for approximately 9 passengers and the route runs from the terminal to your destination. Tickets can be purchased inside the airport, right outside the arrival area.
  2. Centropuerto Bus: the cheapest option is to take one of the Centropuerto buses that run every 10 minutes from 6:00 am to 23:30 pm for $1.800 CLP. The bus stops at 10 different locations with Metro Los Heroes as the final destination. View the list of stops here, as well as the Frequently Asked Questions(in Spanish).
  3. Taxi: taking a taxi is the fastest and most direct way, but is also the most expensive. The cost to downtown is around $25,000 CLP. Check and calculate the approx. fares on this website: http://www.taximetro.cl/.
  4. Transportation apps: while Uber and Cabify are apps popularly used in Chile, they remain illegal by government standards. We recommend you choose either a Taxi, van, or bus to get home from the airport instead.
